Cross Community Climate Collaborative (C4)

C4 is an award winning collaboration that brings together underserved and resourced communities to drive climate, equity, and sustainability outcomes.

C4 was founded by three mayors – Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson, Oak Park Village President Vicki Scaman, and River Forest Village President Cathy Adduci, along with Urban Efficiency Group CEO Darnell Johnson and SGA Executive Director Gary Cuneen.

C4 prioritizes peer learning and collaboration, resource acquisition, large-scale replicable projects and metrics, and currently supports 14 underserved and resourced Chicagoland communities, working together to achieve:

  • 45% greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions reductions by 2030 from 2010 levels and 100% reductions by 2050 in accordance with science-based recommendations
  • Funding and support for underserved and resourced communities, with an interest in achieving equitable sustainability outcomes
  • The development of large-scale projects in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, jobs, workforce development and other community-determined initiatives.
