Oak Park Micro Brew Review to Return in August for Fourteenth Year to Raise Funds for Seven Generations Ahead

Oak Park – What’s better than having a cold brew on a hot summer day? Having a cold brew on a hot summer day while supporting a good cause!

Seven Generations Ahead’s biggest fundraising event, the Oak Park Micro Brew Review, is back this summer. This zero waste craft beer festival, now in its fourteenth year, raises critical operating funds for the organization’s sustainability-focused programming.

Oak Park Micro Brew Review will take place in downtown Oak Park on Saturday, August 21st from 2-6pm. This year’s event features 50 amazing brewers, including Crushed by Giants Brewing Company, Noon Whistle Brewing, Sketchbook Brewing, Phase Three Brewing Company, Liquid Love Brewing, Mikerphone Brewing, More Brewing, and Haymarket Brewing. Along with the many unique and inventive brews, there will be bites from local restaurants like Poke Burrito, Wild Onion Tied House, The Daly Bagel, and Haymarket Brewing. Throughout the event, attendees will enjoy live music on two different stages featuring local bands and a DJ.

The Oak Park Micro Brew Review could not happen without the generous support of this year’s sponsors, which include Oak Park Jewelers, Byline Bank, MacCarb, and Cross Function. Seven Generations Ahead is deeply grateful for the support of the event’s key sponsor, Haymarket Brewing.

Advance tickets are $50, and are available through Eventbrite. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $60. The ticket price includes a commemorative 6oz tasting glass and complimentary beer samples. Micro Brew Review will be following all recommended COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure everyone stays healthy while having fun.

Seven Generations Ahead hosts the festival every year to help support its work. The organization is committed to building healthy and sustainable communities by serving as a facilitator, collaborator, and incubator for sustainability projects. From its Farm to School program, to its Zero Waste programs, to CPS Goes Solar, Seven Generations Ahead creates significant local impact on global problems.

The Oak Park Micro Brew Review is Seven Generation Ahead’s biggest annual fundraiser. As the Midwest’s largest zero waste craft beer festival, it is a way to sustainably celebrate Seven Generation Ahead’s impact, while ensuring the organization has the funding to continue this critical work.

“We’re thrilled to be back producing the Oak Park Micro Brew Review this year,” says Gary Cuneen, the executive director of Seven Generations Ahead. “It has been a tough past year for everyone and we’re looking forward to reconnecting with people from across the Chicago metro area and beyond to celebrate craft beer, raise the importance of sustainability, and participate in what is recognized as one of the best quality craft beer fests in the Midwest!”
