We celebrated Seven Generations Ahead's 15th Anniversary!

Farm-to-table food tastings and beer pairings and concert at The Wire in Berwyn was held Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

SGA was proud to celebrate its 15th year Anniversary serving Chicagoland area communities. Food tastings from local restaurants NOVO, Carnivore, Karl's Soups, and AutreMonde featured produce picked from Oak Park school gardens. Beer pairings featured brews from Kinslahger, Oak Park Brewing, Haymarket, and Wild Onion.

The Indianapolis-based band Brandon Whyde & the Devil's Keep followed the food and beer pairings at 8:30pm.





November 12 will be a big day for SGA. In the morning, we will host the Fourth Annual PlanItGreen Institutional Leaders Forum and in the evening our Second Annual SGA Concert Fundraiser.

The forum will feature success snapshots of local sustainability initiatives and offer resources that support sustainability objectives and specific opportunities to collaborate across communities and institutions. Attendees will also hear an overview of the 2014 Oak Park and River Forest Community Sustainability Report Card and have a chance to discuss collaboration project opportunities.

The forum is from 8 till 10 a.m. at the Marion Street Market, 100 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Breakfast will be served. RSVP with Lisa at .

Then come evening, come out to Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn to hear the captivating sound of Sarah Hickman, a singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas. Hickman, a guest performer on at least 25 albums by other artists, has toured with Billy Bragg, Dan Fogelberg and Nanci Griffith, and has opened for other artists including the Decemberists, John Hiatt and Lucinda Williams. Hickman will headline the Second Annual SGA Concert Fundraiser.

The Chicago-based band Stone Blind Valentine featuring lead singer Emily Hurd will open the evening. Tickets are $75 in advance through Brown Paper Tickets and $100 at the door.
